UX/UI
AMERICAN NOMAD Website
The goal for AMERICAN NOMAD’s website was to take a new approach to online shopping that took their shoppers on a journey through the processs of how each of their items are handcrafted.
The biggest challenge for this project was learning the Shopify platform. All of my e-commerce design experience was with WordPress, so there was a learning curve that had to take place quickly.
Through our research, we identified that imagery needed to be the driving factor behind the design for the site. And not just images of the products, but how they are made, the artist that make them, the cultures they represent and the art forms they are preserving.
The site needed to be easy to update and maintain allowing staff with little technical experience change graphics, load products, create blog posts and promote seasonal specials.

Hero Banners
The hero banners on the website were the central area for AMERICAN NOMAD to highlight new arrivals and promotions. They allowed for the site mood to change quickly without having to touch any other portion of the website. Each season I would create a series of hero banners for their team to upload when needed. The banners were prepared in various sizes so they could also be used on social media, blogs, catalogs and online advertisments. In addition to designing the banners, I also did all of the lifetyle photography for each series.
